The quantum of waste is ever-increasing in cities due to the increase in population, development activities, changes in lifestyle, and socio-economic conditions. 52% of the waste dump in cities is filled with low-quality plastic less than 20 microns, and remains static at the site as collecting them is not profitable. Rest 48% includes, paper, textile, wood scraps, and other biodegradable waste. The teething issue is this low-quality plastic gets mixed with other waste streams is that they are non-biodegradable and remains in the environment, emanating the greenhouse effect. The assessments of plastic are considered by measurement of their performance. Lifetime is not necessarily measured in time; it is thought of as the number of cycles of use.
